[maternity: DJ & Sheri]

"I love a good set of railroad tracks," I heard on the other end of the line.  So with that, I knew exactly where to take DJ and Sheri for their maternity shoot.

This young couple were so super cute, and were willing to try anything.  So we spent some time at the tracks, talking laughing ... even giving DJ some time to down some MickyD's ...

Then, we headed to the street.  Why not?  After all ... there were more french fries to be eaten (smile).

Then ... there was this patch of overgrown grass.  DJ headed down to check it out ... and gave the ok for Sheri to come down too.  Then ... they both found themselves almost knee deep in the wet.  And were they bothered?  Nope ... full of laughter and smiles.  "I work on a chicken farm," said DJ.  "This is nothing."

Then ... there were some cranberry fields with sprinklers.  Tons of sprinklers.  So we stopped.

... and walked down the street.

I so enjoyed hanging out with them ... man.  I have the greatest job in the world.

Thank you so much, DJ and Sheri, for making this shoot so much fun.  I can't wait to meet your new little one - and I'll have my camera ready to go (smile)!

[family portraits: The Schurmann Family]

One of my favourite things about being a photographer, is reconnecting with people that I've known forever.  So when Corinne emailed me about family pics, I was thrilled.

Peter and Corinne have the sweetest family.  Their youngest daughter was in preschool with our son and we had a chance to see each other each week and see the changes a 4 year old makes.  But after preschool, they chose to have their girls home schooled and Corinne loves being able to  impart into their little lives on a daily basis.  And their girls really are so sweet ...

There is something so special about sisters.  I didn't have a sister growing up, and so watching these two little girls laugh and play together ... it warmed my heart.

And this couple has had to walk a difficult path.  A few years ago, Peter was in a terrible car accident.  It was a very scary time, and he continues to endure through pain and discomfort.

But during our entire photoshoot, he had on the biggest smile ... watching his girls, walking with his wife ... these are moments that could've been so different.

They were such a sweet family.  The girls would run and play, never running too far off ... Peter, Corinne and I would chat it up ... talking about our life choices, our families, our faith.

Thank you, Peter and Corinne, for allowing me to hang out with your precious family and capturing some of these special moments!  It was such a pleasure ...

[portraits: Katia Rose]

Sometimes, I just have to share personal photos.  What can I say ... I'm a proud mama *grin*.

Our daughter, Katia Rose, will be eleven months old soon.  I can hardly believe it.

Every month, I've been trying to remember to have a portrait session with her.  It's not like I don't take enough pics of our kids *grin* ... but I thought that it would be a good thing to document on a regular basis.  And she's our last ...

So, out came the prop-box and we headed to the park.  I am in love with this little girl.

Of course, I took too many pics ... but you know me - there can never be enough *grin*!

[family portraits: The Wong Family]

I had met Josh and Melissa a few months back, when I was asked to do portraits of his family.  So when Melissa's parents anniversary crept up, I was thrilled that she thought of family pics as a gift.  And more than thrilled that she wanted me to do them.

The Wong Family showed up in sunshiney yellow ... which was perfect because there wasn't a cloud in the sky.  I met up with them in Fort Langley, and we decided to just walk and talk - and stop whenever a prime location showed up.

This family was so great.  So so so great.  Melissa and her sister, Stephanie, were quick to laugh - and it was obvious that they were close to their parents.  The "add ons", Chris and Josh, seemed to love the way their wives weren't afraid to throw their heads back into a good belly laugh ... it really really was so much fun.

And then there was Benjamin.  Oh dear, sweet,  Benjamin.  They had to keep a double eye on him, because I could've taken him home.   He was that stinkin' cute.

And I loved taking pics of him ...

Thank you, so much for entrusting me with your family pics.   I love meeting fantastic people, and capturing those special moments ...
