[IHeartFaces: B&W 10th Place!!!]

I am SO excited!

I woke up this morning and thought I'd check out the "I Heart Faces" page to see if any winners were announced.  Honestly - I had gone to so many of the incredible sites and seen so many fantastic photos - that I really wasn't expecting to find anything ... 

There were 985 entries.

And there it was ... MY image!!!

What does this mean?  Well, the top image won a $100 gift certificate - 10th place doesn't win a prize per se.   But I feel like a winner *grin*.

On another note ... I'm working FERVENTLY on my new website.  It's almost done - and you know how it goes when you're almost finished ... it seems like it'll never end.  Now, I'm not a web designer - so the details are making me go cross-eyed.

And I'm my worst critic ... one moment I love what I'm seeing - the next - I think it looks like a non-web-designer made it.  Yuck.

So ... the big launch is April 1st; I have a bit more time.

What else?  I'm working on a photoshoot that I took of a friend-photographer and her family.   She was 37 weeks pregnant and I really love how it's turned out.  The problem - I took too many pics, so I have to continue to whittle it down *grin*.  Not a bad problem, but a time consuming one *bigger grin*.

[business: The Perfect Camera Bag.]

From the moment I bought my first SLR, I had been looking for the perfect "home" for it to live in.  It was a small SLR and it ended up living in a one-shoulder-sling-backpack.  But I quickly outgrew that ... 

Then I got a bigger case.  And I outgrew that.

Then ... I wanted to be all cute and stuff, and I got an Epiphanie bag (which I LOVE ... ).  But it doesn't hold nearly half my equipment anymore ... And truly?  It just isn't safe for me to try and put more in it than it naturally holds.

So.  For two years now, I've been looking for the ultimate camera bag.  I checked out Crumpler and although super funky, it didn't meet my needs of a roller bag.  I checked out Lowepro ... a fantastic product, but expensive.  I even checked out girly bags ... and found that I liked the "man-bag" even better at KellyMooreBag ... But again - not what I was really looking for.

Through all this time, I've kept going back - back to the first recommendation I ever got for the most perfect travel-camera-bag.  Thinktank.

Thinktank has amazing camera travel bags ... and today, I got my own.  *insert happy dance here*. The one I chose, after making myself go crazy trying to decide, was the Airport International.  And she (yes, it's a she) looks like this ...

And I am one happy camper.

[business: Favorite Finds.]

I've been getting a lot of phone calls lately asking for still-life photography.  And it's not that I haven't been interested in still-life, but I just haven't really focused on it.  I love the emotion of people, the interaction, the experiences.

So when I received a call from Antonella Jukes, owner of Favorite Finds in Maple Ridge, I was excited for the new challenge.  She is in the process of creating a new website for her home decor store - which, I might add, is far more than just that.  Bath products, cooking specialties, baby gifts, jewelry ... as well as candles, greenery, dishware.  It's a haven for any one who likes the very best.

Here are a few of my favourite images that I took ... 

The store is stunning ... Antonella's eye for vignettes and groupings is truly lovely.  The products she chooses to sell are unique and useful - all at the same time.  This is a place where you could find that special item for that special person.
