[family: Mark, Katherine & Family]

Katherine emailed me with a simple request .., " ... we're a family of five, with three girls.  Just wanting our baby to be old enough to respond to photos."

Well ... with beauties like these - this was going to be an easy photoshoot *smile*.

We went to a family member's property - a beautiful acre in the heart of Langley.  Soon it will be no more - if the developers have anything to do with it - and this was the perfect chance to capture more memories on this special piece of land.

I love little girls ... and all dressed up like a princess, Avery loved having her photo taken ...

Rebecca was excited to get a new Facebook profile pic *grin* ...

... and Brooklyn?  She could bottle up those eyes and sell them for a bazillion dollars.  They are that beautiful.

Every session is always so different ... Mark and Katherine were so easy to please.  And I loved how they interacted with each other ... and especially how uncomfortable Mark was being in front of the camera.  A laughing husband always makes for good pics ..

... aren't they lovely?

... and a weeee bit silly too *grin*.

I LOVE it when other family members are there for the shoot ... grandparents and grandkids - such a special bond.  Such a special photo ...

Thank you, Mark and Katherine, for choosing me to take your family photos.  I had such a great time hanging out with you - and I think we need to do it a bit more often.  The sun came out for you that day, and it hasn't been back since *grin*!!

[weddings: Kin & Kristy ... Part III]

Ok ... third and final ... Kin and Kristy's reception.  Well - some of it *grin*.  The majority of the images are of Kin and Kristy with guests - but here is a small sampling to give you an idea of their celebration ...

It was at the Burnaby FireHall and every detail was met.  The food was exceptional - it's always a treat to get sample great cuisine - and the whole feeling of the reception was really relaxed.

The speeches were heartfelt, funny ... personal.

... and you gotta love a good "pilot" joke ... especially when it comes from the bride's parents ...

... and a dollar would buy a guest one second of kissing from the bride and groom.  Trust me - when a $ 20.00 donation came, twenty seconds felt like a long time to be witnessing some public displays of affection *laughing* ... and Kristy could always tell when the counting slowed down ...

Their first dance was to "Lucky" ... one of my personal faves (it's the tune I use on my RedHanded Photography website ... ) ... it's such a happy tune, a perfect fit for a perfect day ...

PHEWF!!  And THAT, my friends, are three posts on one of the most lovely weddings I've been to.  Man, I love my job ...

Kin, Kristy, thank you - so much - for the privilege of hanging with you on your special day.  Seeing you with those you love, and witnessing the two of you together - it was so obvious that you both made the perfect choice in choosing each other.   I wish we could do it all over again *smile*.

[weddings: Kin & Kristy ... Part II]

Part Deux.

Well ... I hope you brought another cup 'o java.  Or tea.  I prefer tea ... *grin*.  Got me a steamin' cup of  african rooibos even as I type this ...

This post is proving to be a long one ... in fact, this isn't the final post  *big grin*.  There shall be a third.  There are just too many images that I'm wanting to share with you all ... And did you notice?  Yup - a watermark.  My RHP camera icon is there not to interrupt the images (and my clients own ALLLL the high-resolution images, so it's not to defer people from downloading images from this site) ... it's just so that when someone looks at my images, I'd love for them to know they're mine.  I have to get better at remembering to do this *wink* ...

ANYWAY ... back to Kin and Kristy ... after all - this is all about them *wink*.  Yesterday, we left off after the ceremony ... so that's where I'll pick up from.

After some much deserved hugs and congrats, it was time to get the necessary family pics - but with this group it sure didn't feel "necessary" ... it felt fun *grin*.

The sun had come out, and before we moved to the next location for photos, Kin and Kristy really wanted to have some photos with the spring cherry blossoms ... and with the children of the bridal party.

Sounded perfect to me ...

It was truly picture perfect, but I couldn't help but wonder ... who on earth gave the little girl a stick *grin*?  Makes for a memorable pic, though - no?

Next stop?  The water ... with some vintage cars, some beaming sunlight and some crazy wind  ... and some of my favourite images of the entire day ...

Kristy was a trooper.  I love a bride who says "yes" to every idea I have *grin*.  I convinced everyone to follow me down to the beach - and despite the wind, the muck and the odd broken bottle (shame on someone ... ) we got a whole series of images.  The bridal party was so great - full of comments and laughter ... the time just flew by ...

The water was right across from the prize location ... the Vancouver International Airport.  Both Kin and Kristy are pilots - in fact the bridal party was laced with pilots - so this was the most perfect location for them.  One of the groomsmen pulled some strings, and we were able to head into some pretty remote spots ... they didn't seem all that fascinated - but I was gobbsmacked.  This was the coolest spot ever ... almost made me want to hop on one of those insanely small planes ... alllllmost (I'm a wee bit afraid of flying ...).

... I wonder what Kristy's aviation students would think seeing her like this on the tarmac.  I wreckin' they'd think she was hot ... *grin*.

... there were so many beautiful spots, so many ideas in my head ... I didn't really want it to end ...

I hope you're not tired of seeing these two.  We still have their reception to go *grin*.  If you have a moment - leave a comment - would love to hear from you ...
